Count It All Joy
“Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
James 1:2-3 (NIV)
Dear friends,
My prayer and heart’s desire are that you, your family, friends and associates would have a closer walk with God and discover His will for your lives.
God has given First Thessalonian Missionary Baptist Church a challenge to demonstrate how we can share a message that points people to the grace of God. In all that we do, we will be led by the “transformative authority” of the Holy Spirit; ensuring that our efforts are Bible based, Christ led, and Mission bound.
The mission of the First Thessalonian Missionary Baptist Church is to win souls for the glory of God by the teaching and preaching of God's word through bible study, evangelism, mission work, and Christian education. We thoroughly enjoy and employ the lessons that God has been teaching us through His holy word as we go through the trails and tribulation of daily living.
Our theme this year is James 1:2-3 (NIV), “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.”
My friends that “joy in perseverance” is Jesus’ eternal light that He is calling us to share with others.
We ask that you think of a co-worker, family member, friend, or stranger who needs joyful assurance during these turbulent times. The fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much.
Christians who have Jesus Christ as the eternal light in their life can tell a confused world that God’s grace is sufficient. If you have not accepted Jesus as your Lord and Saviour, it is not too late. Confess your sins to God and repent of those sins. I define sin as any thought or action that separates you from the love of God and a feeling of absolute dependence on God.
We invite everyone to join with us and have a tremendous year in the Lord by reaching out beyond our walls to the community and all humanity. As believers, we encourage good fellowship among the saints and invite all guests to be inspired to seek God’s divine truth.
We hope you will bless us by worshiping the Lord at First Thessalonian Missionary Baptist Church as we grow in grace. You will find a warm and friendly group of people who will welcome you. We never forget to show hospitality to strangers as we demonstrate our fidelity to God as taught by Jesus Christ.
Yours in Christian love,
Rev. Dr. Leroy Wright Jr.
